The Promethean board is actually a whideboard application that is installed like any other. ActiveInspire will be installed as well as single application, therefore I don't think there will be conflict between these two and you should proceed with the main installation of ActiveInspire if you didn't do it already.
Also, when running the installation package for ActiveInspire for the first time, make sure to use Run as Administrator. It will give system rights to write in the registry hive and copy all the necessary files on the system partition.
